CASA CPL Programme

Introduction

Pursue your dream to become a commercial pilot by equipping yourself with a CASA CPL. Both theory and flight training of the CASA CPL course is conducted at our Australian campus.

Admissions

Entry requirements

  • Age: 18 years and above
  • Education: At least Year 12 or GCE ‘A’ Levels or equivalent preferred (those with 5 GCE ‘O’ Levels credits including Mathematics, English and a Science subject may be considered)
  • Able to pass CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical Examination
  • Good proficiency in English language (e.g. IELTS overall grade of 5.5)
  • Male Singaporeans must have either completed or be exempted from their full-time National Service
  • No criminal conviction or finding of guilt (including all motor vehicle or traffic-related convictions)

Training

Ground School - Conducted in Australia

  1. Aviation English
  2. Private Pilot Licence (PPL) 
  3. Commercial Pilot Licence Theory (CPL)
  4. Instrument Rating Exam Theory (IREX)

Flight Training - Conducted in Australia

Flight Training to RPL
  • General Aircraft Handling, Circuits, Training Area and Consolidation
  • 34.5 hours in single-engine aircraft
  • 1 hour in a Flight Simulator Training Device (FSTD)
  • Solo, Area Solo, RPL

Flying Training to RPL (Recreational Navigation Endorsement)
  • Basic Instrument Flying and Navigation
  • 20 hours in a single-engine aircraft
  • 2 hours in FSTD
  • RPL

CPL Training & Multi-engine Rating
  • Basic Instrument Flying, Night Visual Flight Rating, Navigation
  • 99 hours in a single-engine aircraft
  • 2 hours in FSTD
  • CPL & Multi-engine Rating Flight Test

Instrument Rating
  • Multi-engine Operation, Instrument Flying
  • 26.5 hours in a multi-engine aircraft
  • 20 hours in a FSTD
  • Instrument Rating Flight Test

Duration

  • 18 months (full-time) of integrated training covering ground school and flight training in Australia
  • 354 hours of theory training
  • 205 hours of flight training*
*Actual flight training hours are subject to changes by Regulator(s)

Certification

Awards to be conferred

  • AVI40108-15 months (full-time) of integrated training covering ground school and flight training in Australia
  • AVI50408- 3 months (full-time) of integrated training covering ground school and flight training in Australia
