Becoming a STAA Cadet
If your dream is to become a commercial pilot, take the first step to fulfill your aspiration by enrolling and training with STAA. Our ab-initio pilot training programmes are suitable for applicants with little or no flying experience.
Applying to train with STAA is straightforward. Simply follow the four steps below to get started:

Have the form duly completed and ensure that you have all the necessary supporting documents. You may find the list of supporting documents in the application form.
Submit the application form and supporting documents at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will contact you to visit STAA for a computer-based selection test if your application meets our requirements.
- Upon clearing the selection test, applicants are required to obtain a Class 1 and class 2 medical certificate issued by the relevant national aviation authority to qualify for enrolment.
- Applicants are also required to obtain a IELTS overall grade of 5.5 to qualify for enrolment.
- You will be notified for a interview by the STAA Interview Panel once you clear the selection test.
*Applicants applying for partial sponsorship will attend an additional interview if shortlisted.
*Applicants for airline cadetship programmes will attend an additional interview with the airline if shortlisted.
We will notify you if you are successfully selected for enrolment with STAA.
Upon your acceptance of our offer, you will sign a student contract with STAA and this signifies that you are now officially a STAA cadet!
If you are enrolling in a self-sponsored programme, please ensure that you have sufficient funds to support yourself throughout the duration of the training course.
If you are taking up a bank loan, please ensure that all arrangements are in place before the course commencement date.
