Becoming a STAA Cadet

If your dream is to become a commercial pilot, take the first step to fulfilling your aspiration by enrolling and training with STAA. Our ab-initio pilot training programmes are suitable for applicants with little or no flying experience.

Applying to train with STAA is straightforward. Simply follow the four steps below to get started:

STEP 1

  • Consider your career aspirations and personal circumstances to select your preferred pilot training programme.
  • Ensure that you meet the entry requirements for the selected programme.

STEP 2

  • Download the STAA application form here.
  • Have the form duly completed and ensure that you have all the necessary supporting documents. You may find the list of supporting documents in the application form.

STEP 3

  • We will contact you to visit STAA for a computer-based selection test if your application meets requirements.
  • If you pass the selection test, you will be interviewed by the STAA Interview Panel.
  • Applicants for airline cadet pilot programmes will attend an additional interview with the airline if shortlisted.
  • Applicants are required to obtain a Class 1 medical certificate issued by the relevant national aviation authority to qualify for enrolment.

STEP 4

  • We will notify you if you are successfully selected for enrolment with STAA.
  • Upon your acceptance of our offer, you will sign a student contract with STAA and this signifies that you are now officially a STAA cadet!
  • If you are enrolling in a self-sponsored programme, please ensure that you have sufficient funds to support yourself throughout the duration of the training course.
  • If you are taking up a bank loan, please ensure that all arrangements are in place before the course commencement date.
